Fast improving Ansu Bhuyan justified the benefits of his training stint in Spain when he bagged a double by winning titles in men’s singles and open doubles categories of the Orissa Open Tennis Tournament here at Bhubaneswar Club today. Local teenager Ansu beat his former coach Santosh Mallick in the singles final and then combined with his present coach Ajay Nishank to edge out Vijay Avinandan and Chinmay Pradhan in open doubles summit clash.
Gurukul Tennis Academy trainees Shakti Ray and Tanmayee Patnaik emerged champions in mixed doubles event, while the titles in above 40 and above 50 years veteran categories were claimed by Rajpal Singh-Zishan Ali and V Raman-SS Rath respectively. Higher Education Minister Devi Prasad Mishra handed over the trophies and cash prizes in the presence of office-bearers of host Khurda District Tennis Association at the closing function.
